Please join us for the
Third Annual "Making Tracks
for Celiacs" fundraiser
event!
The
Gluten-Free Gang of Central Ohio has scheduled the third annual walk event to
raise funds for celiac disease, to benefit both the local support group and the
Center for Celiac Research. We are hoping to make this year’s event even more
successful than last year's! Please join us in this effort — your support is
more important than ever to our efforts; every little bit helps.
Essential information:
Where: Fred Beekman Park, as the corner of Lane Avenue
and Kenny Road, The Ohio State University campus, Columbus, Ohio.
The park has a nice 1-mile loop with a good sidewalk; this year’s event will be
based from the shelter house (signs will guide you to registration and parking).
Date:
Saturday, May 1, 2004
Time:
Registration begins at 8:00 AM; the Walk will begin at 9:00 AM.
Length of walk: We suggest 3-5 miles -- but feel free
to walk as many or as few laps as you feel comfortable doing! There is a
bit of a "hill" on the northern leg of the loop.
Goodies: An event T-shirt,
registration packet and goodie bag will be provided to all participants, as well
as snacks (gluten-free, of course) and water.
Cost: $15 for registrations postmarked by April 1, 2004.
$20 for registrations postmarked after April 1, 2004 and
day-of-event registrations.
Weather: The walk will be held
on the event date, rain or shine – please dress appropriately!
A silent auction will also be held
from 9-11:30 AM the day of the walk. If you can help by donating an item for
the silent auction, please contact one of the coordinators.
This year we are also adding a raffle
for certain items; tickets will be $1 for 1 ticket, $5 for 6 tickets.
Registration
We are not able to offer online
registration, but the various forms are available here for download.
Print and copy as many times as you like, but a separate
form must be submitted for each individual walker. A signed liability
waiver and check in the correct amount must accompany each registration
form for your sign-up to be complete (1 check for a group of walkers is fine;
waiver must be signed by parent or guardian for
participants under 18). We very much appreciate your filling in all the
information legibly, too!
