accommodating customers needing gluten-free meals. As you might expect,
you'll need to exercise caution and ask all the "right questions" when
investigating specific dishes at specific restaurants. This list is

| Note: Although the OSU Faculty Club is members only, you may have
occasion to be a guest of a member; lucky you! The menu has recently
been changed to include specified GF items: the Fresh-n-Fruity plate
(order without the muffin); the Risotta Torta (Italian torta made from
risotto, caramelized onions, pine nuts and feta cheese, served with sauteed
spinach and roasted tomato vinaigrette); the salmon may be ordered without
sauces (plain grilled) as well. Check with the server for the
starch option for the day (often red-skinned potato is available). Also,
the downstair restaurant, Colleagues, has a great salad bar; the sandwich bar
and hot-item bar may, on a given day, also offer items that happen to be GF. |

| Notes: BD's is a great place; choose from the buffet of ingredients
(meats, seafood, veggies, etc.) to put in your stir-fry. I personally do
not use the sauces; I have not checked their GF status, so I bring my own soy
sauce, etc. When you have your ingredients put together, tell the fry
guys that yours is an "allergy bowl" (yes, we know CD isn't an allergy,
but that's their terminology). They will take your ingredients to the
back to be cooked separately. Steamed white rice is brought to the table
by the servers. BD's also has a salad bar and a nice selection of red
and white wines, too. The restaurant will take reservations for parties
of 8 or more, but if your group is large, call well ahead as they can only
accommodate a few large parties at a given timeslot. |
